@ISneakyShoesI I know, right!?
lol at the end, that chicken is all like, “i think i love this plant more than you do.” *nom nom*
You seem to be a great chick mom!! I’ve enjoyed your videos!!
@handmadepotholders1 splash silkies
are bob and terry partridge silkies
@berniebee11 Now that the weather is nice, I’ll make a new chicken video asap. The bantams are still tiny, and now they’re laying tiny little eggs
Thanks for watching!
I love your chicken vidoes. I was just wondering if you would be able to give us an update on the chickens and the coop. how big are the bantams now?
aww ur so nice
@hamburgermeat11 To stop my hens from staying broody, I make sure to remove the eggs right away every day. If she doesn’t have eggs to sit on, she’ll break the habit. But you said they’re a week old. Does that mean you’ve only had them for a week? Because chickens don’t lay until about 20 weeks
I just got some chickens that are a week old and one of them is brooding. There is no rooster only 9 hens and i dont want her to sit on the eggs, do you know oh any ways to stop her from laying on them and start laying agian?
@genghisgirl well look at the howcast chocken coop thats what we want to build :]
@YoMamma1985 it all depends on your space, whether or not you want a chicken that’s more of a pet or just for eggs/meat, and what kind of set-up you’re prepared to have for your chickens. every breed is different in terms of laying, temperament, and space requirements. you should do some research at backyardchickens[dot]com
@genghisgirl and what do u think of the White leghorn because thats what i might get?
@YoMamma1985 Hi! Mitzy & Sophie are Speckled Sussex hens.
what kind of chickens are misty and sophie?
@handmadepotholders1 the purple hut is actually a plastic litter box for cats. it was the perfect size for the little birds and was super easy to clean.
also where did you get that purple hut for the silkies and how much was it
@handmadepotholders1 They might, but it’s more likely that they’ll attack it. I would keep them separate and let them mingle on neutral ground. I still keep my flocks separate unless they’re free-ranging in the main yard.
i was wondering if my two buff orpington hens would raise a white face silkie chick that is coming to me soon?
@handmadepotholders1 We actually lost one Silkie roo to a hawk last summer, and it has returned since without success. The little flock’s run is completely covered and the big birds always manage to make their way back into their coop. We may extend the deer netting to go over the top of the run if we see the hawk again in the spring.
do you have a problem with hawks. If you do, do you have ways to get them away
@genghisgirl is it because they are not well behaved? I’m just curious because I believe they are not allowed where I live (Miami) so I hope they don’t make too much noise so my neighboors dont complain
@123luckysunshine I live around a lot of farms, so it’s really easy to rehome them if I have to.
I love all your videos! I will have 7 little girls soon. I was wondering, do you always find them a new home?
Love the family…lol
