I cooked a 13 lb turkey for Thanksgiving using The Big Easy and the cook time was about 2 hrs 15 minutes.
what is the cooking time for say a 12 lb turkey??
I fried turkeys for more than 12 years. Bought TBE 2 years ago and have not looked back. It’s cleaner, less expensive and a tank of gas seems to last forever. Turkeys look better and taste as good as fried. It will kick out a Prime Rib better than any restaurant. (Ever deep fry a rib roast?) Beer chicken on the menu? Not in your deep fryer!!
I have been using TBE for four years. I have cooked turkeys, hams, prime rib and have been amazed by how great this unit works. Gave my turkey fryer to a friend. Be negative all you want, be a hater but unless you have tried it, shut up because you don’t know what you are talking about. As for turkey fryers, over a hundred house fires per Thanksgiving are due to someone who knows what they are doing with a turkey fryer, didn’t really know what they are doing. Maybe this isn’t a fryer, who cares!
I’ve had good eating results but Im done with hot oil and leftover oil to dispose of…not to mention the cost of oil….I’ve got a Big EZ and the results are pretty dang close without all the BS….
DOPE I DID IT LAST THANKSGIVING IT WAS AWESOME:)
Oh please! It’s not a fryer. Everyone plays on the safety factor. There’s nothing unsafe about a fryer, unless you’re a complete moron with no common sense. This Turkey DOES NOT taste like a deep fried turkey. Just give it up Charbroil!
I’ve used one for a year and it’s wonderful! The cooking times are way longer then advertised but what comes out is great especially with rubs. No more heating up the house at Thanksgiving. One turkey in the charbroil and another in a smoker. The smoker is a LOT more hassle.
hmmmmm doesn’t look that moist by the way you can still grab it with your forks
@landline00 Cry more little guy cry more.. Seems you have a lot vested in the char broil. i guess you were one of the very few people that bought this “oil less fryer” bwahahah poor little fool.. Keep trolling boy.
@usarocks69 You seem to have a lot of suppressed anger my friend. I hope you don’t beat the wife and kick the dog (over your frustration with the Char-Broil.) Perhaps a kind YouTuber could tutor you in its proper use and care?
@usarocks69 No tears over an item I never purchased. I only cry when girls break my heart.
only in america are there people this dumb…
@usarocks69 Thanks comment troll.. yeah there are many people that think this is a joke, and you just feel bad that you got duped by bad advertising, poor little boy cry more..
@usarocks69 Look at the comments on Amazon. No one feels duped. Apparently everyone -except you- understands it’s an infrared oven.
@landline00 comment reply troll
@usarocks69 Dude… I don’t think anyone has been duped…everyone seems to love it.
Stop hatin’.
чё га зовно???
lol oil-less fryer, this is an infrared oven, OIL-LESS fryer, dont make me laugh. its a round oven….. anyone who buys this thinking o a oil-less fryer, u just got duped. look up what frying is then you will shake your head…
Bought this a few weeks back and used it yesterday for the 2nd time..Now a little practice makes perfect and this is incredible! What a feast we had and the turkey was fully cooked, browned and yummy, best ever!..We cooked a 12lb the first time and 14lbs yesterday and for Thanksgiving, I plan on cooking an18lb bird and it will take a bit longer but so much fun cooking outdoors and watching it roast away!
this is the second year in a row that I’ve used the Big Easy…we used to fry our Thanksgiving turkey’s. This year we had a 16 lb turkey…and even after about 2 and a half hours, it wasnt done all the way. I used a meat thermo in the breast….I did not cook with the ‘lid’ on ….should I leave the lid on while cooking??
The Turkey was injected before cooking, it tasted great…its even better cold , the next day too…
I’m sold on the Big Easy..
thanks.

The thing is NOT a “fryer.” Can’t be a fryer without oil, and I don’t know why they choose to market it as such. It works very well though; I always inject my turkeys with something like spiced wine or beer and they begin boiling from the inside out in a few minutes. Because they steam from the inside, they are extremely juicy and tasty. The “crisp” skin with a rub is not nearly as good as peanut oil-fried turkey, but a lot better than normal oven baking. I like it.
I bought the Big Easy this year. Cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving & Christmas! My family and friends rave that these have been the best turkeys they’ve ever tasted. Very easy to cook with!
It’s difficult to imagine a Moist Turkey coming out of this unit? And two hours for a 14lb turkey…I wonder how much propane is used in that time? It’s about $12-14 for a 20lb tank of propane around here. And where so the drippings end up… and is the clean-up difficult?
Peanut oil has become quite expensive, but it can be filtered and reused several times.
You can’t beat Hot Wings cooked at 400 degrees! And a 14lb Turkey cooks in about 30 minutes in the oil cooker.
I don’t pretend to understand what makes the way this cooks different from a regular oven. I can only say that I used it for the first time on Thanksgiving and the taste was incredible. So much better than in a regular oven. I can’t even describe how much. I also had someone taste the leftovers the next day and she said it tasted better than the oil fried turkey her family had for dinner.
